INTRODUCTION

I have decided to write a story about a bottle life, because few years ago I, may father and mother were talking about stupid (or should I say interesting?) stories, and one of our imaginations were about the bottle. Where it came from?! In this story I’m going to write about “Torres” brandy “Grand Resservada”. Let’s imagine were this bottle started his life, and were he’s going to finish it. So here is the story…

BIRTH OF THE BOTTLE

This royal bottle born in the year of 2001. It appeared in one of the biggest Spain Company “Torres”. They have made this bottle from the high quality glass and poured the best quality brandy in it. When the bottle was made and had a glorious brandy inside, it was waiting for his label. He (that’s how I’m going to call the bottle now) was standing in the dark windowless cellar and waiting for the label to be printed… After a few days he has finally got his label. There was a royal (well they used royal letters) sign on the label: “Torres - Grand Resservada”. The bottle felt wondrous – he’s now not just a bottle, he’s a “Grand Resservada” royal brandy now! He was standing in the middle of the wooden shelf and thinking about the good life he’s going to have… Because he knew that he is made from the finest and most delicate of the traditional Catalan white varieties. Which is grown in cool mountain microclimates (Upper Penedes) and it produces aromatic dry white wines light and with delicate fruity aromas. Well what can I say? He knew quite a lot about himself.

CHILDHOOD

He spent all his childhood in the cellar, which is in Spain. Let’s say… Madrid. Bottle was living there until he gets old enough to be served. He enjoyed his childhood with another bottles from the same cellar while talking about tastes and… Who knows…? In the year of 2003 one of the Lithuanian companies ordered a huge batch of brandy from the “Torres”. And guess what? They have packed our hero in the batch as well. And that’s how he came to Lithuania, Vilnius. In Lithuania bottle was not feeling as good as in Spain, because he have missed his friends (by the way, they were all wines) “Coronas Catalonia”, “Cordillera Chile”, “Waltraud Catalonia” and others. In Lithuanian cellars he could only share his ideas with cheap “Alita” wines… Bottle was depressed, because almost all the wines here were low IQ and bad taste. He knew that, but because he was sensitive, he didn’t show that. He was pretending that he likes them… One day “Drinks World” (shop of the drinks) has ordered a batch of brandy. He was finally in the good shop near other prestigious bottles.

LIFE IN THE SHOP

The life here was good. Bottle had everything he needed. First of all he had a good company. From the left he could talk about wines with “Torres” wines, and from the right he could have a conversation about degree with “Lithuanian” vodka. Vodka bottle was huge – 1litre. Brandy felt very safe while having a friend like this. Plus vodka is national Lithuanian drink, so brandy heard a lot of stories about drinking until one evening someone came to the shop and bought “Lithuanian”. When the cashier took it from the shelf he placed another one in the empty place, but no one could change it… Because brandy and vodka had the best two days together. And now… he’s gone. Few hours ago some other guy came to the shop and after a few minutes asked the cashier to pack the bottle of brandy as a gift. Than the man took it home and placed on the bar.

OWNERS

The first owner was just some kind of dude. He bought this bottle for his friend, because his birthday is coming next week. Dude thought that a bottle of royal “Torres - Grand Resservada” would by just fine. So the bottle was standing on the bar packed all week until next Tuesday. Who knows why dude bought it so early, maybe he just wanted to make sure not to forget it? Anyway, on the next Tuesday dude gone to his friend house and gave the present to his friend. They have had a good party with a lot of drinks and drugs. The bottle was scared not to be broken by drunken dudes. In the morning the bottle was under the sofa, but still in one piece, not broken. He was lying on the ground and waiting to be taken. After a wile dudes friend woke up and started cleaning the place. The bottle was expecting to be found, but unlikely dudes friend haven’t seen him. “Grand Resservada” was lying under the sofa for a few months until dudes friend dropped his beer on the ground. Then he took a cloth and started to clean the floor. Likely he saw the bottle under the couch and took it out. Unfortunately he has forgotten that the bottle was a gift and put it near other drinks in the bar. In a few weeks he needed to go to see a doctor, but how to go there with empty hands? So he took the bottle of “Torres” and gone to see the doctor. The bottle was packed nicely in a green paper bag. Doctor took the bottle and put it near the other bottles in his collection (your don’t even imagine how big bottle collections do the doctors have). “Grand Resservada” was standing on the huge shelf full of various drinks for a few months, when one evening doctor brought it home. It was his wife birthday, so he needed a good drink. He put the bottle of brandy on the table and left the room. Than the bottle realized that he’s finally going to be opened! He was not scared or in a panic. He knew it from the beginning, because he was a clever one.

EMPTY BOTTLE

Finally all guests arrived and the birthday party begun. They were drinking all kind of drinks including brandy, so in a few hours our bottle was empty. And when the bottle is empty no one is looking at it, no one even want to keep in on the table. So the bottle was moved away from the table on the clipboard in the kitchen. When the entire guest gone doctor and his wife were cleaning the pace and putting all the empty bottles in the plastic bag. Tomorrow they will throw it away to the glass bin, because all the glass which is going to the glass bin is being recycled and used again.

NEW LIFE

Next day the empty bottle arrived to the recycling center. In a few hours he was recycled to one big mass of glass, and then… They have made a beer bottle from it. How unfair the life is! At the beginning he was a royal “Torres - Grand Resservada” made from exclusive grapes and now he is just a simple bottle for a beer which is made just from a simple stuff like barm and other components.
